What does Richelieu stand for? A pure, natural product with
sensational elasticity of 200%. Incomparable light and fluffy
wearing comfort. Richelieu’s secret lies not only in the noble
material made of fine twisted, mercerised cotton yarn but
also in the handicraft used to produce it. Every article is
finished by hand, making each piece unique.
As a natural product, cotton reacts spontaneously to
humidity. Depending on the weather, the articles can
elongate or shrink slightly. To prevent laddering or hole
formation, Zimmerli recommends placing the articles in a
washing bag in the machine. 5-8% shrinkage is calculated
for the first few washes. Thereafter, the Richelieu regains its
full elasticity.
Zimmerli of Switzerland's underwear and nightwear are still made in Switzerland.
